Dr. Yan Xin

Perhaps the foremost living representative of qigong, Dr. Yan Xin (pronounced Yan Shin, Yan is the family name) is helping lead the way toward a reconciliation of Eastern and Western approaches through rigorous scientific examination of the "qi" phenomenon. Since the beginning of the renewed interest in qigong in early 1980s, Dr. Yan Xin, a senior attending physician and renowned qigong grandmaster, has always been engaged in the exploration of the scientific nature of Traditional Chinese Qigong.

Dr. Yan Xin was born in 1950 in Sichuan province of China. Many books about his work have been produced by a number of editors and organizations. His invited lectures at many places throughout the world draw audiences in the thousands (at Tsinghua University) (at Harvard University), and he has met with representatives from many different circles in the world, including US President George Bush, US President Bill Clinton, and Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien. He has been honored by the State of California and the City of Houston, Texas as an "Honorary Citizen." President George Bush praised him as "a sage of our times."

Begining at an early age, Dr. Yan Xin studied and practiced Traditional Chinese Qigong and healing art under the tutelage of many accomplished qigong and medical practitioners in medical, martial art and other circles. Later he started systematic education in Western medicine and subsequently graduated from the Chengdu Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

A growing reputation as a "miracle doctor" took Dr. Yan Xin from clinics, hospitals and research institute in Sichuan, through travels across China, to Beijing and many countries around the world. He has employed medicine and Traditional Chinese Qigong therapuetically in thousands of cases, including curing cardiovascular and neurological disease, and achieving significant improvements or cures in some cases of cancer and even AIDS. Many patients are drawn by his success in curing certain conditions that have not responded to other treatment.

A wide range of health benefits may also be realized through individual practice of Yan Xin Qigong techniques, including improvements in the body's circulatory, respiratory, digestive, endocrine, muscular, skeletal and immune systems.

Dr. Yan Xin has been invited to different places around the world to conduct academic activities in medicine and qigong life science. Among them, the 1997 International Yan Xin Qigong Practice and Research Conference held in New York City in 1997 attracted more than 2,500 scholars, professionals and other delegates from throughout the world.

Beginning in the 1980s, Dr. Yan Xin has also conducted a series of landmark medicine and life science exploration in collaboration with researchers from leading universities in China and the U.S. (with scientists at Tsinghua University, Chinese Academy of Sciences and the University of Illinois). These experiments in life science and physical sciences provide the first concrete scientific corroboration for the scientific exploration of Traditional Chinese Qigong: that with a highly accomplished qigong master such as Dr. Yan Xin, the vital human life force, or "qi," can be projected out of the body and affect physical substances and objects. For example, the effects of Dr. Yan Xin's qi emissions have been measured on proteins, enzymes and DNA under laboratory conditions. (More about Yan Xin Qigong scientific research.)
